Spring Cleaning Tips

Though Spring is still not upon us, it is never too early to expend the mental energy to clean. I am someone that has to be in the mood to clean, and believe me, that mood doesn't hit often. :) Here are some tips and tricks to help beat the winter blues and get a jumpstart on Spring cleaning!

  • Figure out what clothes you actually wear. It is time to get rid of the t-shirt from tenth grade that hasn't fit since freshman year of college. Clean. Out. The. Closet.
  • If you pick something up, put it back where you got it. The simple rule of cleanliness that is oftentimes seems like absolute hardest.
  • Look at the things you have! Oftentimes, we buy, buy, buy and never actually need or discard. Start donating something every time you buy something new. Not only this help with your budget, but it will help make sure that you don't have unnecessary clutter.
Good luck with cleaning, my friends!

Old Furniture, New Life

New Year, New Me

...at least for the first few weeks! :) What are your New Year Resolutions? As it's the time to focus on change, I'm going to try my hardest to implement a little bit of change to this blog.....by blogging more! I can't promise anything, but I will try my hardest!

The focus of today's post is do-it-yourself projects! These simple DIY projects will add a touch of the season into your home, and won't break the bank.

This is simple, and gorgeous. By adding a few pieces of wood into an existing planter, along with some garland and battery operated lights, you have a quick, easy, and beautiful statement piece. Place this simple, elegantly rustic decor on your porch or walkway, and you'll have all your guests asking where you bought it. :)

A little piece of wood, some chalkboard paint, and twine: all that is needed to create a rustic, simple welcome sign. As showcased above, this project is one that even beginner DIY-ers can accomplish. Have fun!

This is the perfect project for one that loves a hot glue gun craft. Simply visit your local arts and craft store and purchase the needed supplies. After that, hot glue the berries to the letter of your choice! A simple project can lead to an elegant, personalized door decoration.

Have fun, and please share your DIY successes!
