Spring Home Update: Cheap Options!

I think every Spring (well every nice weekend day) I get inspired to do some decorating and reorganizing. This obviously leads to a Target, Marshalls, Pier 1 or mall visit. Don't get me wrong, it's my favorite part of the weekend but sometimes you can't find what you're looking for and frustration sets in!!

For example, I've been wanting to get something to put on our large fireplace. We really need to build a mantle, I think that's what is missing, but right now I'm looking for something cute to hang. I bought the cutest wall hanging from Target this weekend (I bought the white version). It just didn't end up being a cohesive piece in the living room.
But don't worry, I'll find a nice home for it :) It was only $19.99! And the white one was the only one at the Target near me had so I feel like it was meant to be. I also picked up this cute 3 mirror set
I bought these for an accent wall in a bedroom. They were only $25 and were the perfect colored wood for the room. I will say hanging 3 mirrors was no easy task! Also $25 might seem a bit steep for accent mirrors but any other type of mirror would be well over $50. I will never understand why they are so expensive...

Well, if you are looking for a small, cute spring update to a few rooms here are a few cute things I've come across!

World Market - $14.99

H&M Woven Basket - $17.99

H&M Pillow (comes in 4 colors!) - $5.99

H&M Pillow (comes in 5(!!) colors) - $5.99

ADORABLE Target Vase Filler - $9.99

Target Book Ends- $19.99

Target Faux Succulent - $7.99

I just love them all!! I love those little woven baskets. Might be something cute to add to the back patio (eventually). I know these types of things add up so look for coupons! I looove getting my succulent type things at Michaels. They always have coupons (and the best section of florals and greenery).

Everyone have a great weekend! I have family coming into town this weekend, we've got some dinner and much needed drinks planned so I'll check back to the blog mid next week!

Happy Spring: Let's Talk Patios!

It's officially Spring! I never thought we'd see the day after some of this terribly cold weather. Two of the Simons' favorite activities are dining and lounging outside all Spring & Summer long. I have a small plan to update our back patio this Spring so ya'll know what that means - new patio furniture!!

Patio furniture can range from $100 - $2,000. Financially, spending $2,000 on furniture that sits outside in the sun and rain just isn't something I can get myself to do. I'd say under $1000 for a dining set AND a sitting set would be ideal. But I know myself, and I know walking out of Target without something is HARD so I'll budget more like $1200. 😉

Let's talk dining sets first - we need ample seating, aka more than 4 chairs, currently obsessed with the wood look, and I don't like anything crazy, just a simple design. Here are a few options I'm thinking about.
Home Depot - $699

Wayfair - $499

Ikea - $673 (cushions included)

Target - sold as separates - totals around $650
Ikea - $505

Target - $527.99 (currently on sale)

I really love all the option but I'm torn between the Target and Ikea ones. I told ya'll, I like the wood type look! Now lets talk about the seating/conversation sets. Ideally, we'd love seating that can fit close to 6 people, but I know how much sets like that can run. So, I'm prepared to mix and match certain chairs or couches to get what we need. I will say, I normally don't go for the wicker look, but with the elements I don't want the responsibility of re-staining any wood. Both options are on the table right now, it'll depend on the quality and of course, price :)

And one other thing to mention, I despise chinsy, thin patio cushions. Anything that comes with cushions that fall in that category will not make the cut, fyi.

Here are a few great options I've been eyeing!

Target - $649

Target - $609

Lowes - $598

Ikea - $560

Home Depot - $599

I really love this Home Depot one, I just love something about a round table. But again, it fits 4 so I might need to finagle another something in there. I'm also a huge fan of the Ikea set. I eyed it last year and they lowered the price on it this year!!! And it's soooo easy to add on pieces with the Ikea sets. So that might be the deciding factor. It stinks that they charge $100 for shipping so a trip to the Ikea store might be in our near future :)

Let me know if there is a set you like better! Or you if you have any advice on patio furniture materials!

Also, Happy National Puppy Day everyone :)

It's Been a Bit

I've been slacking on my blog! The holidays got busy and I was trying to get back to posting but you know how that goes. But, Nat is back! Here are a few Spring updates I've been debating. A small kitchen update might be in my future, but I know what an undertaking that could be. I might let pinterest just keep me motivated until the weather gets a bit nicer.
